It seems to me that the baggage at 25 years old is generated by someone else - mothers in particular. (Have you talked to a 25 years old recently??) Over 40 it's all self generated baggage.

You get baggage either way. Welcome to human life.

Lets say that each year, 20% of those (conservatively) get married off
Age 22: 0.6
Age 23: 0.48
Age 24: 0.384
Age 25: 0.3072
Age 26: 0.24576
Age 27: 0.196608

You have 2 real shots at this.
1. Do what you did. Pick 'em young, while they are still available.
2. Become more attractive ($$$) so that, even though there are fewer, you are more capable of winning them than the other schmucks left on the market

That 20% annual attrition rate doesn't take into account those coming back on the market. ; )

Need to remap it (probably a bell curve) as "without baggage, but mature".

Wolfger has a good point. But to remain consistent, "mature" should be rephrased to "close to the light" or "ready to knock off". :D

I think baggage is half the fun of a relationship. It's what makes chemistry real. If you look for someone without any, all you'll find is someone that'll latch onto yours.
