Mmmm, I'm not sure if this really holds for all values of lanes. The larger the number of lanes typically indicates a more urban landscape and thus the less wildlife to get in the way. I think the curve should drop off at some point on the x-axis, say, 6, or 8.
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
