Go! Look!

I have to let everybody know that I really enjoy getting your stories and hearing about how you interact with the graphs and what you think about this project. It's very encouraging!

And sometimes I get things like this that I just have to share.

Here's a short film which uses some of the ideas on this site to tell a delicate sort of story. More info on it is here in the artists' own words.

It was made by digital designers Clemens Kogler and Karo Szmit, and the piece was narrated by Andre Tschinder.

Life is indeed just one big PowerPoint-file, filled with pictures and movies which crash the application constantly.

Your date of death, by the way, is somewhere stored in an Excel-sheet.

Excellent video. Very clever. I've been reading every day for a couple months now and I thought the video might be a little predictable but it wasn't at all. Keep up the good work!

first, I kind of want to complain against the few random irrelevent comments in this and the past few blog posts: stop, now. No one gets it, and it has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

*cough*

Anyways, the video's awesome, and I think that it really illustrates how the human mind works more than anything else (or atleast for some of us), with how we associate, categorize, judge, and associate again. Its videos like that and blogs like this that really illustrate it best. For some, we think these things, but keep to ourselves, for others, we speak it randomly when the thought comes to mind, and finally there are those that can put it down on pen and paper (or in a video) and let others enjoy it.

I think it would be cool if they would put a higher-res version up for download. Its sort of hard to see some of the details.

The film doesn't load for me :(

That was great...love this blog and introduced many friends to it. But did you realize they named you as 'Jennifer Hagey' on their site? Oops. Keep up the great thought process!

That was fantastic!

I found your site via Bob and have been enjoying perusing the archives!

I have in index card in my head and when I can get it onto paper I will post it on my blog and give you a nod.

Keep indexing!

What a fun little video - it's the seven steps from Kevin Bacon version of Venn diagrams! Amazing how we humans can tie everything together eventually.

Just wanted to let you know, I love your site! Your index cards are witty, smart, hilarious. Bravo!

I love it!

Reminds me of Mark Lombardi's work - only funnier.

Have you seen the Royksopp video on Youtube called Remind Me?

It seems rooted in the same heritage as your work.

A beautifully done animation of your index cards!

Near the end I was wondering if it would somehow loop back to the beginning, but that would have been too clever and unrealistic.

It was fun to watch, but I still prefer the original index cards here.

been reading a while and love your cards! you should let us download hi res and put them on t-shirts etc... like hugh does. and i want a widget too! you should be a darling of the blogosphere too.
cheers!

That was great, thanks so much for sharing it with us. I'm glad to see your blog has inspired such interesting work. Every time I see an index card I now want to write something clever and graph-like, but some people are just born with that talent: I am not one of them.

Thank you for making life so simple and clear.
I was not 100% sure that I was a reincarnation of Jesus. But using this visual, clever and easy techniques, I managed to find THE PROOF. Enfin.
They're telling me my familly will be allowed to see me as of next week. Une bonne nouvelle.
Pourvu qu'ils me laissent mon ordinateur...

It's good. The quite strong German accent hampers it, but the graphics and animation, the pace, and the deadpan tone of voice really work for it.

Just great.

How great. It's so nice to see artists inspire one another and use each other as a jumping off point. What a refreshing change from the usual "it's mine" mentality.

I don't know I kind of liked the german accent - I thought at first it was a synth voice from a computer.

It added a universal character - like this transcends simple cultural boundaries because it is so visual.

Nice video, but I definitely prefer your index card style!

Rock on!

Great video. Our brains associate things just like that.
Here's something else inspired by your site. I'm looking at it now and I'm not sure whether it was my creation in the first place, or maybe I've seen it somewhere before and don't remember...
