The only people who are popular in middle school are those who fit in. The only people who make the Dean's List or Employee of the Month are those who both fit in and stand out. The only people who are popular after their death are those who stand out.
If you want to be popular in middle school, you have to fit in with everyone else. If you want to make the Dean's List or Employee of the Month, you have to do what you're told AND you have to be better than everyone else. If you want to be popular after you die, you have to really stand out...not just go along with the crowd.
lol Oh, this one is good! I'd love to print this out as a poster and put it up on the wall of my junior high school classroom, but none of the kids would get it. (Any other teacher would laugh hysterically, though.) So very true.
I was thinking the being popular after death due to standing out had to do with being a medical oddity or something of the like. "So make sure you have a will."
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.

Sweet! I'm on the Dean's List AND the Employee of the Month, I must be extra-special at fitting in and standing out!
Outstanding!
I think the best yet...
Is there a higher resolution copy - I want this framed on my wall!
@Mark Harrison
Vectorise it.
I was never popular in school, or at all - possibly because I stand out.
Hopefully people will remember me, and all my novels after I've departed for heaven! :D

Funny coincidence is that "Fit In. Stand Out." is the tag line for Credit Suisse recruitment drive!
