Typically, the dependent variable is plotted on the vertical axis (in this case, it makes more sense for it to be Turtleneck Sales), so anonymous is right. But people get what is implied regardless.
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.

Shouldn't the axes be the other way round? Why would turtleneck sales affect Simon Cowell's airtime?
I didn't think the axis order mattered. These charts only imply correlations, not cause and effect. Or am I mistaken?
