I think that the reason McDonald's isn't in "GOOD" is fairly obvious. And the "Pick Two" mantra is thrown out at my place daily at those who come by at 4:30 saying, "I need you to create a cool design/UX quickly."
Brilliant! We've known about the good/fast/cheap triangle in the theatre industry for a long time, but it never occured to me to think what would exemplify the combinations of choices!
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.

McDonalds: Maximum Taste, Minimum Wage!
(This joke ripped off from David Letterman.)
:-) My boss's mantra is "You want it good? fast? cheap? Pick two!"
I learned the "pick any two" version years ago. You could also do the diagram with D being described as nonexistent, or a black hole or some such.
Notice how the McDonald's food doesn't fall into "Good." I'm just pointing it out. Honestly, I don't know why there's one every couple of blocks.
