Can you seriously imagine that A.S.P., having now gotten what is effectively encouragement from his father to join Slytherin, would not go to The Dark Side?

His father may be a successful Auror, but the Malfoy family still has Generational Wealth.

Check it out!... if you use A.S.P, that's an asp -- which is a breed of snake... ooooooooo... I wonder if this was done on purpose.

Evil wizards = were in Slytherin
Sociopath Killers = were bed wetters

But, the reverse isn't necessarily true. Any evil regime's ultimate power is fear. By taking the element of irrational fear out of Slytherin, by making who his children become their own choice, Harry removes the power that fear gives to the dark arts.
