So true.

Maybe it's because as the value of the car decreases, the ability of the radio to work likewise diminishes; hence, there is nothing left to sing along with.

Which leads to another thought: Do people sing louder in rented vehicles? I'm thinking of Larry Summers' observation that people don't wash rented cars. Or, as one former girlfriend of the consultant class put it, "Don't be gentle, it's a rental."

Hmmm... truth. I sang loud all the time (and played music louder) in my cheapie Dodge Neon than I ever do in my much more expensive minivan. Although, that might have something to do with being a mom now and having a kid who says, "No Mama!" when I sing. Says something, yes?

I think it's because the cheaper the car the cheaper the sound system! Though at that point you'd have to make your own music, but it wouldn't be along with the radio. Hmm...

This is so true! I love to sing in my car at the top of my lungs and it's one of my all time favorite activities. Also, my Saturn is paid for.

I sing all the time when I'm driving, but mostly when I'm driving my boyfriend's car, now that I'm thinking about it...
