Don't you just love that during Lent, suddenly people that don't even go to church or practice religion on a consistent basis are suddenly devout Catholics? "I gave up Chocolate for Lent." I guess I can't give you a cookie then.

contemplation,
sense of self and
life lived intentionally

but that isn't part of the zeitgeist these days.

It is indeed something how lent can all of a sudden bring out the holy in someone simply because they are giving up sweets.
