Actually I'm wrong, the X axis is nothing, and it may just be that it's harder to people-watch in a movie theater. I took this as an insult against theater audiences. Oh hell.
The x axis is not an integer value, Its a single point bar chart. The Y axis represents the quality of the people who watch films in the respective locations. each distinct point on the x-axis representing a different location.
Actually if it looks like the girl is taking a nap, with her head in her boyfriends lap, at the movies, the quality of people watching goes up very quickly.
I don't there's meant to be a value on the x-axis. Rather, the quality of "people-watching" is very high at the airport, while the quality of "people-watching" is literally very low at the movies since no one is doing anything but watching the screen. What makes the thing funny is the joke that the people watching the movies are also of low quality themselves, if the movie is bad.
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.

maybe the unlabeled axis is 'number of people viewing?'
It could be quality and quantity...
X axis is the number, but the joke is the deliberate absence of the hyphen between people and watching.
The Y quantity then changes from describing the quality of the activity of people-watching to the quality of the people who are themselves watching.

Try looking at the graph as if it were a histogram type and the points actually bars.
