This could happen in Kansas City, too. Because it DID. A few weeks back, we had a thunderstorm in the wee hours, then later that morning it rained, then the sun came out. Squee!

I just adore your site, BTW. It brings back all the haunting memories from my various math and statistics classes in college. Lovely.

I had no idea you're in Ohio.

And I hate that our nice weather left us.

I'm in Columbus too. Between the OSU students drunkenly falling into High Street right in front of my building and the insane weather, I'm hiding for the rest of the week.

No way! I'm in Columbus, too. Now I see why your cards apply so perfectly to my life.

Then we Columbusites should all meet up somewhere.

Definitely! Just name a time and place.

I owe you a drink... your cards, hanging on my cube wall, have given hope to my tiny beige corner of the universe. :)

GASP!!!

Ben has a crush on Jessica!
Ben has a crush on Jessica!
He's gonna buy her dri-inks
then get her liquored u-up!
then they're gonna fi-ight...

Then we're gonna see a whole bunch of circles with bad words on them and the big E circle that encloses them will be "E = Ben"

awwwww... poor Ben!

(and I had such high hopes for you two!)

Wow Joanna. Wow.

Actually, it was more in homage to the "Why you drink" cartoon in my cube that so many of my coworkers - traveling on the company tab - admire 9-5 and live 5-9.

I'm no longer in Columbus, but I was born and raised there and it remains a very big part of me. No wonder I loved your work from the first moment. Too funny.

While I'm at it, thanks for the deeper thoughts, the lighter laughs, and the all-around warm glow your posts give to me and my life. I look forward to them each and every day.

Hell, that's normal weather in Colorado...
This one actually occurred when Finley was playing for Houston and the Astros visited Colorado during the Rockies' inaugural season in 1993. Finley and Gonzalez checked into their hotel about midnight, then went to the Hooters downstairs to have some wings and a beer while enjoying the 70-degree weather outside.

The next morning, Finley recalls, his phone rang at 8:30. It was his buddy Gonzalez, telling him to look out the window.

"We got eight inches of snow," Finley said. "I remember going to the ballpark and it was 30 degrees and thinking, 'What are we doing here?' The next day, it was 70 and sunny again, and all the snow had melted."

And that was in September.

Damn! I'm in Columbus, too (Dublin)! You ROCK! Are you FROM Columbus or did you just come here for school?

Hah! Count me in as part of the Columbus crew too. I almost cried when I saw the snowflakes yesterday.

Columbus / Athens myself. Way to represent central OH. Your stuff is great!

Yeah, weather in Columbus sucks right now. I'm looking forward to May... it might be less schizophrenic by then. I want the sunshine and warmth back. It felt so nice...

Andrew said...

Heh, I was in OH for two months last year in April/May. So think wiping out the 'sunshine' and 'snow' circles and you've got my experience there.

We should meet up! It would be so very fun!

Nothing like bitching about the weather to drag all the Columbusites out of the closet. :)

Another Ohioan here (NorthWest). One thing about Ohio, if you don't like the weather, wait a bit, it'll change :).

Ohio born and raised here too.

Hey, just popping in to represent the Cleveland area (and my hometown: Lexington, OH), and add my congratulations and thanks for having and sharing such an awesome idea.

Rain, sun, and snow in one day isn't terribly unusual anywhere. As long as it's not cloudy all day and the temp. hovers around freezing it'll happen.

Heather said...

<-- not from Columbus, never even been to Ohio, but I want to meet Jessica too! Maybe when you go on tour with your book... You have a friend in Charlotte, NC!

((waving)) Columbusite here too!

It actually happened. Today. There is 3 inches of snow, and its may 24th.

From columbus and moving back soon - I find it amazing and reassuring that so many people who read your blog are from Ohio, after all it does take a little bit of brainpower to fully enjoy some of these ;)

Keep up the good work - I added the Mac widget to my desktop :)

Try 85 one day, then snow on the ground the next. All's fair in Texas!
