My grandfather, Walter Lumsden was a coal miner in Scotland at a time when they really did take canaries down the mine. You were probably more likely to die from rockfalls and collapses than asphyxiation, although lung disease got you over time. Later on in life he developed an established breed of canaries and became a World Champion
This site is a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others.
I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.
