so true. i was lucky: the dress i wore as a maid of honor at my best friend's wedding i've managed to wear twice since, and i expect to get still more use out of it. by far the exception.

I wear mine sometimes on our anniversary. It's pretty and what the hell. I just don't wear it out of the house.

True that. Also see prom dresses, awards ceremony gowns, etc.

Oh so true. And the timing... I just altered a bridesmaid's dress which I will be wearing for the third time. Unheard of, right?

The first time was the original wedding for which it was purchased, the second time was a week later at an impromptu same-sex wedding at my house and I was the only woman there so I HAD to wear that gorgeous dress again. And the third time will be in one week for a Christmas party - shorter but no less lovely. Yay for not falling into the trend depicted in your still-glorious chart! Keep it up. I'm looking forward to future charts.

I was once invited to an annual ball called "the Bridesmaid's Ball".

The intent was for women to wear their worst and ugliest brides maid dresses (I guess to at least get to wear it again to lower the ave. cost/wearing.

Unfortunately, my date ran intopthe brideof the dress she was wearing. Too funny.
